It’s called the “City of Angels.” Los Angeles offers more than 500 square miles and some 18 million people in its metropolitan area - There is no end to the events that you can visit and see throughout the area!
Think of a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway – or what the locals call “PCH,” that passes through the city and takes you anywhere from Malibu to Santa Monica. You’ll probably see a movie star or two along the way and will undoubtedly spot a movie location or a place you’ve seen on a TV series.
Then there’s Hollywood. From movie studio tours to the chance to see the homes of your favorite stars. There’s the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle, a unique venue dedicated to events and shows that highlight the talents of magicians from around the world. Hollywood is not just a destination – it’s a city in and of itself, with shows and concerts throughout the area. The Hollywood Bowl hosts the world’s best talents and there is always something great to see. Small concert venues abound throughout Los Angeles and if you’re planning an event yourself, you’ll find dozens of places to hold a wedding, shower or reunion.
Universal Studios is a place to take your family, to experience the wonder of the film industry and to share special events and times with those close to you. From 4th of July celebrations to the fun of Halloween, there’s no end to the adventures that are in store for you. The same holds true to Disneyland, the original “Magic Kingdom,” which will soon celebrate its 70th anniversary.
“L.A.”, as it’s affectionately called by so many, is home to a rich diversity of ethnicity that celebrates festivals from home countries from all points of the compass. Local neighborhoods like Koreatown and Chinatown serve up some of the best food in the world. It doesn’t take long to move from Asian cuisine to European food either. Interested in German food? You can find a place for wursts. And if you like an Irish pub, you can always find one as well. Not to mention the many local breweries scattered throughout L.A. Would you believe there were nearly 100 craft breweries in Los Angeles alone? Most of them host talented musicians every day, along with special events dedicated to any festival you can imagine. And, of course, arguably the best Mexican food around is available throughout the city.
Sports are a huge part of L.A., with its great weather and insatiable drive for competition. Home to the NHL Kings, baseball’s Dodgers, NBA Lakers and the NFL Rams, this city bubbles with excitement in every season of the year. Looking for a sports bar? Name an NFL team and you’ll find a bar dedicated to your particular hometown favorite.
The art scene in Los Angeles is unparalleled. You can take in an Edgar Allen Poe Festival at the Radiotheatre one day and then be part of the Van Gogh Immersive Experience another. And don’t forget the Getty Villa – you’ll think you’ve travelled to Italy!
If you want to take a break, it’s a short drive to some of the most picturesque wineries in the world. Of course, L.A. is also one of the only places in the country where you can swim in the morning and be at a ski slope that afternoon.
Ask anyone from the city and they’ll tell you this city has it all!
